Hong Kong Jewellery & Watch Fair 2008

Get Yourself Ready to Visit the September Hong Kong Jewellery & Watch Fair in Two World-class Venues

July 21st 2008,Hong Kong - One of the top three fine jewellery events in the world and attended by the highest number of international buyers - the September Hong Kong Jewellery and Watch Fair- is approaching. The Fair will be held over different periods in two world-class exhibition venues - AsiaWorld-Expo (AWE) (Halls 3, 5, 6, 7 & 9) and Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) (Halls 1, 2, 3, 5 & 7, Mezzanines 1 & 2, Grand Hall, Expo Drive Hall and 200 series meeting rooms), with a total of over 80,000 square metres of exhibition space. 

In AWE the Fair will open on 15 September, while in HKCEC it will open two days later, on 17 September. Both venues feature different categorised products and buyers can stroll through both locations to source jewellery products from over 2,500 exhibitors. The variety of choices of products meets the various needs of buyers.

Asia's Top Jewellery Fair

The September Hong Kong Jewellery & Watch Fair is a MUST-VISIT jewellery fair in a jeweller's schedule. This single event, infused each year with a businesslike atmosphere, provides the greatest choice for buyers worldwide. Over 38,000 jewellery traders from 138 countries and regions will assemble in Hong Kong to conduct business at the Fair. An array of finished jewellery and jewellery materials will be featured at the Fair:
 

  • Jewellery - Over 1,000 manufacturers worldwide are showcasing a full range of high-quality fine finished jewellery.    
  • Diamonds - Over 400 loose diamond suppliers from every major trading centre and over 700 diamond jewellery exhibitors displaying the latest diamond jewellery designs.    
  • Pearls & Pearl Jewellery - The biggest pearl trade fair in the world, featuring over 820 suppliers displaying a variety of pearls, from the finest South Sea and Tahitian to Akoya and freshwater pearls.    
  • Gemstones - Asia's biggest showcase for gemstones, over 630 exhibitors showing all gem varieties, sizes and qualities. Over 700 manufacturers exhibiting the latest gemset jewellery to global traders.    
  • Equipment & Packaging - Biggest gathering of new equipment and packaging in Asia, over 130 suppliers from around the world.

In addition to major jewellery categories like fine jewellery, finished jewellery, diamonds, gemstones and pearls, 20 group pavilions and 12 main themed halls and pavilions at both venues will provide a wide variety of choices for global buyers. To enable visitors to locate easily the products in which they are most interested, the exhibition halls in HKCEC and AWE will be classified according to categories and pavilions.

In addition to product displays, a series of special events will be arranged to enrich buyers' visits:
  • Two world-renowned pearl auctions will be held: 
    the Paspaley Pearl Auction from Australia and the Robert Wan Tahiti Perles Auction from French Polynesia

  • Jewellery parades and fashion shows

One Stop - Two Fairs

The September Hong Kong Jewellery & Watch Fair is held concurrently with Asia's Fashion Jewellery & Accessories Fair (AFJ), to be held at AsiaWorld-Expo.  Buyers attending the September Hong Kong Jewellery & Watch Fair can enjoy free access to AFJ.

For the convenience of registered exhibitors and visitors, the Organiser has arranged a free continuous shuttle bus service running directly between HKCEC and AWE.  The journey takes on average 45 minutes.  The shuttle bus service will start early and finish late enough each day for foreign exhibitors and visitors to be able to stay at familiar hotels in Hong Kong or Kowloon.

Admission to the Fair

The Fair is open to the jewellery trade, business and professional visitors and members of the press.  Free admission will be granted to visitors who present their business cards or invitation cards and identity cards upon registration.  Visitors under 18 will not be admitted.
